Ed Leonard, president of Daywind Music Group, vice president of New Day Christian Distributors, and a practicing attorney, serves these female-owned family businesses in leadership and general counsel roles. With publishing companies and labels serving over 40 active songwriters and 30 active artists creating music in the Bluegrass, Christian/Gospel, Americana, and Country genres, he continues to build on the family’s 43-year history in the music business.

Leonard currently serves as chairman/president of the Christian Music Trade Association (CMTA) and as co-chairman/advocacy of the Gospel Music Association (GMA). He is currently serving in his second term as a member of the Dispute Resolution Committee of The MLC, and is a long-time member of the Recording Academy, Church Music Publishers Association, Southern Gospel Music Association, Southern Gospel Music Guild, International Bluegrass Music Association, and A2IM, and completed Leadership Music in 2001 and Leadership Bluegrass in 2020. Earning his JD from Belmont College School of Law complemented a BA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA in Finance and International Business from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
