Educational Partnerships

The MLC has developed resources designed to help music industry, songwriting, and composition instructors at colleges and universities learn more about our organization and our work to achieve The MLC's mission. Check back often for new resources.

Educator Toolkit

We have created a package of materials for high school or college instructors to use. These are designed for use in a music business, songwriting, or music composition course. The toolkit includes a video recording (approximately 35 minutes long), a white-label PowerPoint presentation with talking points, in-class activities, test questions, and a resource list of videos, websites, documents/articles and books. Click here to request access to our Educator Toolkit.

Free Online Micro-Course The MLC 101: Introduction to The MLC

We have launched an online micro-course that is available to college students. The course can be completed within about 2.5 hours if the student also decides to take the practice quizzes at the end of each section. Once a student completes the video lessons and associated reading, they are given a personalized PDF Certificate of Completion that they can present to you as proof of completion. If the student decides to take the optional test at the end (which adds approximately another 30 minutes to the course), and passes the test with an 80% or higher, they are also awarded a digital badge. To provide proof of the digital badge, students should provide you with a screen shot from their Moodle profile. To see the information given to students on how to register for the course, visit themlc.com/students. If you yourself would like to complete the course, click here to request enrollment as an educator

The MLC Educational Event Support Program

Speaker Request

If you have a group of 15 or more students, we may be able to have a member of our team join your virtual event or class as a guest speaker. If your individual class does not have 15 or more students, consider partnering with another class for a co-hosted session or hosting an event for interested students outside of a formal class setting. This opportunity is subject to speaker availability. Click here to request an MLC speaker for your class or student event.
