KATHRYN OSTIEN
After graduating from Michigan State University with degrees in Business Administration and Piano Performance, Kathryn held various positions in concert promotion, artist development and Broadway production. Joining TRO Essex Music Group in 2000 fused all her passions into the promotion and protection of the TRO catalog including the works of songwriters like Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Pete Townshend, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and many more.
Promoted in 2020 to COO of Global Music Affairs for TRO Essex, Kathryn oversees all copyright, royalty, legal and creative departments both foreign and in 2023, she created Shamus Records to reimagine TROs legacy works and bring new songwriters to the catalog. In its first year, Shamus signed 32 new songwriters and artists and released 5 new albums.
In 2020, she was appointed to the Unclaimed Royalties Oversight Committee of The MLC. She is also a member of NAPM/Songwriters Hall of Fame, Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP), National Music Publishers Association (NMPA), Women in Music (WIM), NARAS and IMPF.
